Making commitment to race
I have been running for two years consistently.
I mostly run alone and really enjoying the solitude and my connection to my surroundings while I run.
I’ve been thinking about running races but the thought of crowds and organized training schedule doesn’t turn me on.
Yesterday morning, I did my first double digit (11 miles) run and feel really good afterwards.
Making today a rest day, I was on line searching for local races.
I actually signed up for a 10k in May and a 1/2 marathon in November.
This is my commitment to myself to keep up with my running and not let work/life get in the way of that goal.
Welcome! You may try to find races that are low key. Racing is fun, but some of the marathons out there are incredibly crowded. Good luck with your training.
Thanks, Lisa. I’ve read about stories some runners have with very crowed race, that’s always been my concern. I checked out your page, you are an inspiration, good luck with Boston!
That’s great! You will enjoy races, but sometimes the solitude of a long run is more enjoyable than a race. I never win awards, but I use races to keep me motivated to try longer distances or push myself a little faster on race day. Good luck & Enjoy, thanks for your comment on my post as well!
