My left knee started to bother me last week.
I didn’t give it much thought until this morning, I realized that I have been running on the same pair of shoes for close to 400 miles so far. I usually change shoes at about 300 miles. Duhh…
I usually have a new pair of shoes waiting in the pipe line (when they go on sale, I stock-up). I’ve been sticking with the same shoes for 8 pairs in the role, I’ve learn not to change what works. Sure enough, the run this morning feels really good with the new shoes. No knee pain. Yeah!!! I’ll break these in for a couple of days before the Sunday race.
Workout:
- Type: Run
- Date: 05/20/2008
- Time: 14:04:25
- Total Time: 00:49:55.00
- Distance: 5.06 miles
- Average Pace: 9:52.11/mile
LOL. I got new shoes and I’ve only had them a month or so. I read that you should have 3 pairs of shoes. Two for training - use one one day and the other the next. Allows the ‘give’ to come back in the shoes, and the last pair for race day only. Funny how our shoes can cause our injuries. My first pair did.
