It’s been a difficult week of non-activity.
Needless to say, I am cranky as heck. Feeling aweful about my injury, desparetely trying to figure out what exactly is the cause and how to get better quick. Not knowing if I even have the right shoes for my marathon in two weeks, I am getting close to panic mode. I did very slow run this morning on the treadmill using the new shoes I bought last week, and I didn’t like it. The shoe store guy tested me and told me that the long tested shoes I had was not the right shoes for me. So far I have not felt right with two pairs of different shoes they gave me. As much technology was behind their conclusion, I think I have to go back to get a new pair of the old model I’ve beem wearing. My left heel still hurt, the pain is dull but I sure felt it with every step even on the soft surface of the treadmill. I questioned myself about how the heck am I going to finish my marathon at this rate? All that training and running… The quick and easy 3mile run this morning was nice but doesn’t boost confidence like long run does. Long run is out of the question at this point before the marathon, I can’t risk any additional injury.

Lulu, you were following a program weren’t you? And you went off it? Reading the last few posts, I would tend to agree with the shoe guy. Rest soak and taper!
Think positive and will your body to get better.
I also would trust the shoes that treated you right the longest.
Get better!
OMGosh! Did I rub off on you?! LOL. You are a trooper as well. I KNOW what you are going through. I just got off one week of no running and before that two weeks of no running or WALKING because my injury was a ligament, but you know what…I ran today and if felt GREAT! You will be able to do the same.
Go get some gel heel supports. I bought some today, and they are AMAZING! Like running on air. No pain anywhere.
I know it is easier said than done, but shake it off. You did a great race! Reward yourself again with a FULL recovery before you run again. You need to be in good shape for your Pasadena run
I’m rooting for you! GO LULU! GO LULU!
Thanks!!! I am feeling better and will focus on cross-training during my taper weeks. Two weeks away from Pasadena Marathon. The hardest thing to do is holding back to “not run” or “run less” from my peak training. My heel is much better after resting for a week, boy, was that difficult, I was going crazy. I didn’t realize how much I love running!!!
