I did a three mile hill run at 4.5% incline and 2.5 miles on flat. While on hill mode, I tried to keep a decent pace with more effort and on flat, I went all out. It felt really good. I know I have to put in a bit more effort to train for hills as my next race is in San Francisco with a rolling hill course. Yeah, fun!

I have been longing for a good run with my group, I’ve missed them for three weeks due to work commitment on Saturdays. What a great run, we ran fast today, a lot of effort but I felt strong the whole way and was able to hold the pace throughout. Running in hotel gym just doesn’t compare to a run like this and I am so happy to do it. Letting go the stress, problems and worries, and leave all of that behind, I feel like a new woman!

Work committment had kept me from working out since Wedenesday morning. Working straight thru Saturday till 3pm, I was nearly at breaking point. I was cranky, my body aches. Nothing feel good, I didn’t feel this misarable the day after my marathon, how is that possible, taking three days off of my workout cause this kind of havoc on my body. I headed straight for the gym and did a short run just to lossen up and do some deep streching and AB work. I felt like a new woman after. I am hoping on a plane on Sunday morning to the east coast for work for another week. I am going to tried to workout whenever I can squeez one in…the price to pay to not workout is TOO high!
I hate it when my routines are

I met up with my group this morning for a recovery run; we are scheduled for 9 miles. I shared my war story as we ran. This is the first “real” run after Sunday’s marathon. I feel good and kept up a good pace for the entire time.
After the run, our club has a end of season celebration at the Senior Center, they provided coffee, fresh fruits and bagels. There were posters on the walls representing all the races for the past year and we were to go and sign our names on the posters. People showed up wearing their medals and get recognized. I signed my name on the Surf City Marathon poster, the San Diego Rock n Roll Marathon poster and the Pasadena 1/2 Marathon poster. The room was filled with runners sharing war stories having a jolly good time. I was happy to chat with all my friends there.
One of the organizers from the LA marathon also came to speak with us. He has started a partition to try to get the race to move back to March instead of the May. In a day and 1/2, he always has 4000 signatures, he plans to show the city council the partitions and ask them to move the race day for 2010. He really likes out club and also want to train with us for the next LA marathon.
This was a perfect ending for the one-year training season.

I haven’t run since my marathon. Since I shaked out the soreness from spinning yesturday, I figured I go for a little run just to make sure this old body of mine still works. That the marathon on Sunday didn’t create any permanant damage.
I ran tentatively, taking inventory of how each part of my body feel as I ran. My foot and ankle being the area of concern but everything seems fine and I was relieved.
After the run, I worked on ABs with a medicine ball for 15 minutes…huh!!! Life is good. :)

As much as I needed the rest and I did rest. I also know that the soreness of my muscles badly needed some blood flowing thru and the only way to get that is to work out. Spinning is a good alternative of non-impact workout. Boy, am I glad I did it! The knots and stiffness I felt in my legs were gone when I got off the bike at the end of the class. Once the muscles are warmed up, I got to do some really deep stretching that I was longing for. I walked out of the gym feeling like a new woman! Huh……
